COMPUTER'S TECHNOLOGY

Workstation is a computer used for engineering applications (CAD/CAM), desktop publishing, software development, and other such types of applications which require a moderate amount of computing power and relatively high quality graphics capabilities. Workstations generally come with a large, high-resolution graphics screen, large amount of RAM, inbuilt network support, and a graphical user interface. Most workstations also have mass storage device such as a disk drive, but a special type of workstation, called diskless workstation, comes without a disk drive.                Common operating systems for workstations are UNIX and Windows NT. Like PC, workstations are also single-user computers like PC but are typically linked together to form a local-area network, although they can also be used as stand-alone systems.

* Software :- A set of program which is used to enable to run hardware. Without software hardware can not run. There are two types of software:-   i) System Software  ii) Application Software  i) System Software :- It is type of computer program which is designed to run computer's hardware and applications.   Ex. :- DOS, UNIX, WINDOWS etc.  ii) Application Software:- It is a program and group of programs designed for end user. Ex. :- A web browser, media player, a file viewer etc.

Data  is any set of CHARACTERS  that is gathered and translated for some purpose, usually analysis. If data is not put into context, it doesn't do anything to a human or computer. There are multiple types of data. Some of the more common types of data include the following:   I) TEXT (Alphabet, Number, And Special Character)  II) AUDIO III) VIDEO IV) PICTURE V) ANIMATION In a computer's storage, data is a series of bits  (binary digits)  that have the value one or zero.
